The "race" ending features unchecked acceleration leading to potential AI takeover, where superintelligent systems pursue decidedly non-human goals. The "slowdown" branch offers hope through international cooperation and deliberate pauses for alignment research.

For communications professionals, this timeline represents a fundamental shift from managing human crises to potentially negotiating with entities smarter than our entire species combined.
